Agartala, April 08, 2023: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha inaugurated 53rd All Tripura Medical Conference organized by Tripura State Branch of Indian Medical Association at IMA House here on Saturday.
Addressing the scientific session of the “TRIMACON 2023” organized by Tripura State Branch of Indian Medical Association at IMA House here on Saturday, Dr Saha said that the doctors have an important responsibility in protecting the health of everyone in the society. Like medical is a profession and it is also a welfare duty. So the interest of this profession is to be able to treat every citizen of the society with equal perspective.
The Chief Minister said that many times it is seen that doctors or medical workers are affected in various ways In that case, people who come to take advantage of health services need to remember that doctors and health workers are members of our society. Doctors are true friends of society. So everyone should have trust and tolerance towards doctors and health workers.
Dr Saha also said that the present government is sincere in the welfare of doctors. This government has revised the Tripura Health Service Rules in 2022. According to these rules, medical officers are divided into specialist cadre and general duty medical officer cadre. The number of seats for medical students in Tripura has been increased. The current government is also working rapidly to improve the health system of the state. Super Specialty OPDs have been introduced. The state’s health system is improving in all areas of medical services, from cardio to neuro. Trauma centres have been set up at three locations in the state. Primary Health Centres are being upgraded to Wellness Centres. The only government dental college in the state has already been set up. The state has commissioned the largest oxygen plant in the North Eastern region, he added.
The Chief Minister said that efforts have been made to make the overall medical system of the state modern and mass-oriented. The present government has launched a campaign so that the people of the remote areas of the state can avail the better medical services of the state.
Dr Saha said that the doctors of the state are achieving great success in the medical field. The Chief Minister wished the conference an overall success.
The Chief Minister also released a memorandum on the occasion of the 53rd Conference of the Tripura State Branch of the Indian Medical Association. Organizing Secretary Dr Rajib Debnath delivered the welcome address in the conference, President Dr. Damodar Chatterjee also spoke and Organizing Chairperson Dr Abhijit Datta delivered the vote of thanks.
