Agartala: December 17. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha has expressed concern after hearing that Panchali Bhattacharya, wife of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar, was injured in a road accident this evening.
The Chief Minister spoke to Leader of Opposition Manik Sarkar over the phone. Chief Minister Dr. Saha is currently in Shillong to attend a function of the North Eastern Regional Council. From there, the Chief Minister directly spoke to Neurosurgeon Dr. Siddha Reddy over the phone and inquired about the treatment of Panchali Bhattacharya, who is undergoing treatment.
The Chief Minister also spoke to the Chief Secretary JK Sinha and directed the Health Secretary Dr. Debashis Bose to visit the hospital and take necessary measures regarding the treatment of Ms. Bhattacharya. Presently, Mrs. Bhattacharya’s condition is said to be stable. The Chief Minister also ordered to take the initiative to send for treatment outside the state if necessary. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha wished Ms. Panchali Bhattacharya a speedy recovery.
