CM released Sankalp Patra says BJP focused on janajati development, peace in ADC areas

Date:

Agartala, 5th April 2026:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form the government in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) for the first time, creating history.

He also emphasized that the party does not believe in violence. Dr. Saha said this at a function organized by the BJP at its TTAADC headquarters in Khumulwng, where the party released its Sankalp Patra with 29 promises ahead of the ADC elections.

Addressing the press conference, the Chief Minister stated that special emphasis has been placed on infrastructure development and overall progress in various sectors.

“The Sankalp Patra released by the Bharatiya Janata Party highlights all the key issues. Our main objective is to accelerate development in the ADC areas, which have long remained underdeveloped. The double-engine government at the Centre and the state has allocated substantial funds for the ADC. Priority has also been given to infrastructure development in tribal areas, and tap water facilities have been ensured under the Jal Jeevan Mission,” he said.

Dr. Saha further noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given significant importance to the proper rehabilitation of the Bru people. Electricity has already been provided to their rehabilitation centres, and drinking water facilities have been ensured even in high-altitude areas like Jampui Hills through innovative measures.

“This was also highlighted by the Prime Minister in his recent Mann Ki Baat programme. Our resolution is based on ground realities. Every point in the document is aimed at the welfare of the tribal communities. This time, history will be created as the BJP is poised to form the government in the ADC for the first time,” he added.

He said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party does not believe in violence. We are contesting in 28 seats this time. However, there have been incidents of violence since the announcement. We strongly condemn such acts. We believe in peace, and our central leadership is also committed to that path. Unfortunately, some create unrest even while speaking of peace.”

He expressed confidence that the janajati people would understand and support the party’s vision.

“The people of the tribal communities will recognize that this Sankalp Patra is meant for their overall welfare. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivers on his promises,” he said.

The event was attended by BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, former MP Rebati Tripura, and other senior party leaders.
