CM slams CPIM, Congress for pushing Tripura towards destruction

Agartala, 5th October 2023:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha slammed the CPIM and Congress on Thursday for pushing the state towards destruction and said that since the BJP formed the government, the scenario has completely changed.

Dr. Saha said this while addressing the party’s karyakartas during an organizational meeting with the 27-Kalyanpur, 28-Teliamura, and 29-Krishnapur Assembly Constituencies under Khowai district.

“As we focus on politics for development, people are placing their faith in us. The recent by-election results in Dhanpur and Boxanagar are a testament to this. We garnered over 30,000 votes. Boxanagar and Dhanpur, which were considered CPIM strongholds, saw their deposits forfeited. I felt proud when people in Delhi congratulated me. While there are those who consistently plot against us as we work for development, in the end, their efforts will come to naught because we have the support of the people,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr Saha said because of the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP formed the government two times here.

“When he assumed office as PM in 2014, the landscape of the country transformed. Prior to 2014, the situation was different; our soldiers were under external threats, and China encroached on our land. But when Modi took office, India’s image changed. CPIM and Congress only know about violence. They gagged the voice of democracy and are now claiming there is no democracy. During their tenure, many opposition party members lost their lives. They sowed discord between workers and employers. They pushed the state towards destruction. The same pattern emerged in Kerala and West Bengal, where CPIM also ruled,” remarked the Chief Minister.

He also criticized the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal for their governance in the state.

“The people of West Bengal hoped for change when the Trinamool Congress assumed power, but they have experienced three times the misrule compared to CPIM’s era. BJP workers face continuous attacks, including murders. However, in 2023, we declared that we do not want any form of violence in Tripura. This is the first election in the history of Tripura held without violence, for that support and belief of the people in BJP grow,” he added.
