Agartala, 5th October 2023: In a heartwarming gesture, MLA and Tourism and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury took the initiative to provide high-quality sarees to financially disadvantaged women in his 10-Majlishpur Assembly Constituency on the eve of the much-anticipated Sharodotsav.
A total of 490 women from Booth No. 1, 2, 3, and 4, adjacent to Ranirbazar of Majlishpur assembly constituency, were beneficiaries of this benevolent act. The distribution took place at the Gitanjali Hall, situated within the premises of the Ranirbazar Municipal Council office area.
Minister Chowdhury, addressing the gathering, expressed his unwavering commitment to stand by the people, both in the past and in the future. He emphasized that the anticipation of donning new clothes is an integral part of the Sharodotsav celebrations. This personal initiative aims to bring smiles to the faces of the women in his constituency, ensuring they partake in the festive spirit with renewed joy.
Highlighting the collective responsibility towards each member of society, Chowdhury affirmed his dedication to working for the people. He acknowledged the significance of Autumn Durga Puja, recognizing it as the cornerstone of Bengali culture.
