Agartala, 5th October 2023: In a dire turn of events, the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) finds itself in a financial quagmire, with zero cash reserves. The responsibility of paying employees now falls on the ADC administration, leaving the region’s development in limbo. This precarious situation has spurred Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, the leader of Tipra Motha, into action.
After a meeting with the Chief Minister on Wednesday night, Debbarman wasted no time and headed to secretariat on Thursday, where he engaged with ministers and officials from various departments. In a candid statement, he expressed his bewilderment over the government’s reluctance to release the much-needed funds, despite their purported availability.
The mounting frustration among the populace is palpable, with the ADC area’s development at a standstill. Debbarman warned that unless funds are released promptly, the Tipra Motha may resort to peaceful protests, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
A significant announcement emerged from Debbarman’s statement, revealing a forthcoming public meeting of the Tipra Motha party in Khumulwng on October 14, where the concerns of the people will be addressed.
