CM to inaugurate Rs 115-Cr tourism projects, Sushanta reviews key Development Works

Agartala, 1st July 2025:  In a significant push to boost tourism in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha is set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for tourism projects worth ₹115 crore in the coming days, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced today.Highlighting the state’s growing tourism potential, the Minister said, “Another feather is being added to Tripura’s tourism map. A grand replica of the 51 Shakti Peethas will be constructed at Bandowar in Udaipur, Gomati district, at an estimated cost of ₹97.70 crore.

The project, an initiative of the Tourism Department, will be formally launched by the Chief Minister at a ceremonial groundbreaking in the temple town of Udaipur on July 10.”Minister Chowdhury, who inspected the project site today along with the District Magistrate of Gomati, Director of Tourism, and other senior officials, expressed satisfaction over the preparedness and said the project would become a spiritual and cultural landmark.Underscoring the government’s vision to elevate Tripura’s tourism industry to global standards, the Minister said that infrastructural expansion is being prioritised. “To further enhance tourism facilities, the Chief Minister will also lay the foundation for infrastructure development projects worth ₹18 crore,” he added.Among the upcoming developments is the renovation of the historic Kasba View Lodge located in the premises of the revered Kasbeshwari Temple in Kamalasagar, Sepahijala district. Once in a dilapidated state, the tourist lodge is now undergoing a comprehensive overhaul.“The construction work is progressing well and will be completed within the next few days,” said the Minister, who visited the site today along with the area MLA and departmental officials. He also instructed the executing agencies to ensure timely completion while maintaining the highest quality standards.“These developments reaffirm the government’s commitment to transforming Tripura into a prominent tourism destination,” the Minister said.
