Agartala, 30th May 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Thursday spoke with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, urging immediate repair and expedited completion of ongoing construction work on national highways across the state, which have suffered damage following two days of incessant rainfall.
Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office informed that continuous rains have caused extensive damage to various stretches of national highways in Tripura, disrupting daily movement.
“Ongoing construction work at several points has added to the difficulties faced by commuters. In view of the situation, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha personally spoke to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari over the phone, seeking early intervention for repairs and timely completion of highway projects,” an official said.The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister of prompt action to address the issue.
Among the worst-hit areas is a section of the national highway in Khowai district, which sustained severe damage due to the heavy downpour.
