Agartala: May 24. Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday visited the homes of two children who tragically drowned in river while visiting Khowai district.
Along with that, the CM has also directed the concerned officials to ensure that whatever government assistance can be given by the administration to the bereaved family.
Earlier, on 21st May, three children named Moutushi Das (12), Ankush Nama (7) and Khusi Roy (10) drowned while taking bath at river Khowai with their grandfather.
On a visit to Khowai district today, Chief Minister Dr Saha visited the home of Moutushi Das and Khushi Roy and condoled with the bereaved family.
Speaking with media, CM Dr Saha said, “It was a heartbreaking incident which everyone in the state is aware and everyone is shocked. As I came here in Khowai for party’s program, have decided to meet the family members who have lost their children. Another children who drowned in the unfortunate accident is a resident of Bishalgharh and I will visit their too. We have no words to express about the incident. Chief Whip Kalyani Roy also came along with me. I came here to sympathy them. I have instructed the DCM whatever is possible from the government end to help the family. We also helped them financially but this all can’t bring the children. I pray to god for the family members to overcome the loss. It was a very painful incident”.
