Child Care Center workers protest over unpaid dues, stages protest

Agartala: May 24. The workers in charge of Child Care Center held demonstrations before the District Inspector of Social Welfare and Social Education Department for non-payment of dues.

It is known from them that the workers of the Child Care Center gave a deputation to the District Inspector of Social Welfare and Social Education Rights on Wednesday, demanding pending payment of all the outstanding expenses of the Child Care Center for the fourth quarter of the last financial year 2021-22 and the first to the fourth quarter of the financial year 2022-23.

According to them, the arrears of two financial years are not being paid for 15 months. In this situation it is difficult for them to manage the center. They said government had taken plans to close schools have been taken. In this situation they will face extreme financial crisis.

They are receiving Rs 2700 as salary which not increased. They demanded salary increase on this day. There were 170 Child Care Center in West District. Currently it stands at 125. These 125 schools have 250 workers including helpers and workers. The number of children in the school is 25. It is not possible to arrange their nutrition due to non-payment of dues. Worker Apu Das Baishnab said that they will go to the higher authorities in the coming days to fulfill their demands.
