Agartala, 12th June 2025: The prestigious Kirit Bikram Institution, one of Udaipur’s oldest schools is facing a steady decline in reputation. Established approximately 120 years back, according to government records, the school has produced distinguished alumni, including state assembly members and professionals recognized nationally and internationally. However, no significant efforts are being made to restore its former glory.
In a troubling incident, a class III student, Abi Kis Raj, residing in the Khilpara area has alleged physical assault within the school premises. According to the student, he was beaten on his hands and back with a wooden bat following an incident involving water falling into a ditch. The matter has been reported to the headmaster, but concerns remain about accountability and student safety.
The student, now fearful has expressed his unwillingness to return to school. His family and concerned citizens are questioning who will take responsibility for the child’s well-being and education if he chooses to leave the institution.
The incident has sparked discussions about the administration’s role in maintaining discipline while ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment. Parents and local members urge authorities to address both the school’s deteriorating condition and student welfare concerns before further damage is done to its legacy.
