Congress accuses Mimi for attacks on party office and on worker

Agartala: July 24. The Pradesh Congress Committee today alleged that BJP-backed miscreants under the leadership of MLA Badharghat Mimi Majumder attacked one Congress worker and vandalized the party office in Sachindralal area an outskirt of Agartala city.

While speaking with reporters, PCC President Birajit Sinha said on 23rd Congress was holding a dharna protesting against the ED in Sachindralal area in Charipara where the BJP backed miscreants attacked the Congress party office which as recorded by a Congress worker identified as Sulekha Khatun.

Sinha further said that the BJP goons which were instigated by MLA of Badharghat Assembly Mimi Majumder, had attacked the Congress woman worker brutally yesterday and today also.

“In Sachindralal on July 22 Congress held a dharna protesting against the ED. Before dharna Sulekha Khatum our worker went to attend the event. The BJP backed goons then vandalized office of Congress which was recorded by her. The BJP goons has attacked her brutally on that day, vandalized her house and tried to snatch her phone. Today also her mother and Sulekha also came under attack. They kicked on her belly. Case was filed. Today also in front of Police they attacked the woman. We condemned the step of police”, he said.

While, AICC secretary and Tripura in charge Szarita Laitphlang alleged that the woman was raped nine times and police didn’t take her complaint.“I want to ask the CM whether Tripura Police wore the bangles. This woman was raped 9 times. She went to the police to register case but the police didn’t take it. MLA Mimi Majumder directed the police not to register case. Yesterday she was attacked because she took a video when the BJP goons were vandalizing the party office. We have registered FIR mentioning their name”, she said.She also said that in the land of Maa Tripura Sundari, modesty is being outraged, and attacks increased on women.
