Sudden fire and black smoke erupts in life-support ambulance at Teliamura

Agartala, July 24, 2022: A sudden fire and black smoke erupted on a moving life-support ambulance on the Assam-Agartala national highway last night at around 10 PM at an area adjacent to Teliamura market.

It has been reported that the ambulance providing patient services belonging to Chailengta Sub-District Hospital in Dhalai district caused sudden eruption of fire and black smoke. However, no casualties have been reported so far. But today, the ambulance providing patient services, along with the driver and another patient, narrowly escaped.

Around 10 am on Saturday morning, a life-support ambulance bearing registration number TR01J-1119 of Chailengta sub-divisional hospital in Dhalai district completed the task of shifting patient to the capital city of Agartala. According to the instructions of the concerned department, the vehicle was serviced at the TATA showroom on Khayerpur bypass.

But at around 10 PM last night, the ambulance was engulfed in black smoke on the national highway near Teliamura market. Immediately, a person along with the driver stopped the vehicle at a nearby place and got down from the vehicle and in the meantime short-circuit caused a fire inside it.

Hearing hue and cry, locals informed Teliamura fire brigade personnel. Firefighters rushed to the spot and able to save the entire area including the vehicle from major danger.
