Agartala Dec 26: All India Congress Committee on Monday appointed Senior Observer and Observers to oversee election campaign management in states where assembly polls are due early next year, the party said in a statement issued by its general secretary and Rajya Sabha member K C Venugopal.
“Hon’ble Congress President has appointed Senior Observer and Observers for the ensuing assembly elections-2023 for the states including Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura, with immediate effect”, Venugopal mentioned in the statement.
The party appointed Mukul Wasnik, MP as the Senior Observer for all the three poll bound states; Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura.
Besides, Arvinder Singh Lovely, Former member of Delhi Legislative Assembly and Abdul Khaleque, MP from Barpeta constituency of Assam have been named as Observers for the state of Tripura.
Apart from that, Benny Behnan, MP and J D Seelam Ex-MP have been given the charge of Observers for the state of Meghalaya while Francisco Sardinha, MP and Dr Jayakumar MP have been handed over the responsibility of Observers for the state of Nagaland.
Mukul Wasnik responded the appointment in a tweet saying, “I gratefully accept this responsibility given by the honorable Congress President”.
