Agartala, 7th September 2026 : Election activities have intensified in Jubarajnagar RD Block of North Tripura ahead of the upcoming Village Committee (VC) elections.
On Monday, four Congress candidates filed their nomination papers from two ADC Villages—Madhuban and Balidhum—under Jubarajnagar Block. A significant number of party workers and supporters accompanied the candidates during the nomination process, which was completed peacefully.
After filing their nominations, Congress representatives addressed the media at the block office premises. A Congress leader said that there are three Village Committees under Jubarajnagar Block—Balidhum, Jaitang and Madhuban. Of these, four party candidates submitted their nomination papers from Balidhum and Madhuban on Monday.
He added that Congress candidates for the remaining seats would file their nominations on Tuesday.
The Congress leader expressed confidence that the party would perform well in the upcoming VC elections and said the candidates were hopeful of securing a decisive victory with the support of the people.
Meanwhile, political activities have gained momentum across the Jubarajnagar Block following the filing of nominations. Political observers believe that the electoral atmosphere is likely to heat up further as candidates from other political parties file their nominations and begin campaigning.
Issues concerning local development, public grievances and the confidence of voters are expected to remain key factors in the upcoming Village Committee elections.
