Congress continues to re-gain strength; 167 voters joined afresh

Agartala Nov 11: In an attempt to regain its footing ahead of 2023 assembly polls, Congress has started extensive organizational work across the state.After being away from the government for nearly three decades, the comeback of old associates Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Kumar Saha has instilled fresh energy among the Congress leaders and activists who have geared up their activities and also threw challenge to the ruling BJP.

In presence of lone Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, large number of voters joined the Pradesh Congress in Amarpur on Friday.Congress leaders welcomed the newcomers into the party by handing over the Congress flag.

MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA Ashish Saha, Pradesh Congress President Birjit Sinha, Youth Congress President Rakhu Das, State Congress Observer Szarita Laitphlang and others attended the meeting organized by Block Youth Congress at Amarpur Dainik Bazar on Friday evening. The meeting was presided over by Monindra Chandra Das, a senior Congress worker of Amarpur. Prior to the meeting a rally was held in Amarpur Bazaar under the leadership of Youth Congress President Rakhu Das. Addressing the meeting, MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that a Jumla government is ruling the state.

The state is covered with goons, “Pandas”and “Dandas”. Besides, the state has turned into a cradle of corruption. “Number of unemployed is increasing day by day. The unemployed who have passed TET are taking to the streets for jobs. Nursing students came down to the streets to demand recruitment and are facing obstacles from the police. But Minister Bahadur has no news on that”, said Sudip. Sudip Roy Barman added, “The Chief Minister of the state is busy visiting the coconut groves and offices of various departments. They have no idea where the state is going”. Mentioning that he served as the health minister of the state for 17 months during this BJP- IPFT coalition government, Sudip Roy Barman said, “I thought to deliver service to the common people, but I failed to do so because of the corrupt negative minded people sitting in the ministry”.Sudip urged upon the common people to support the Congress in order to free the people from the misrule of the BJP government.Atotal of 167 voters from 53 families joined the Congress party.
