BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 5th June 2025 :  Voicing concerns over ongoing deficiencies in healthcare services, a delegation from the Congress party submitted a deputation to the medical officer in charge at Gomati District Hospital today. The move comes amid mounting complaints from patients and their families regarding inadequate medical facilities and essential services.

Since its establishment, Gomati District Hospital has struggled with a range of operational issues. Patients reportedly face a shortage of doctors, particularly in dermatology and neurology, while irregular service delivery continues to be a major concern. Additionally, infrastructure problems, including an unreliable electricity supply and inadequate water availability, have exacerbated patient hardships. The hospital’s sanitation facilities have deteriorated, with unusable toilets further adding to the woes.

Led by Gomati District Congress Party President Titon Pal and Milan Kar, the five-member delegation presented a demand certificate listing these grievances to the medical officer in charge. The deputation was submitted in the absence of the Medical Superintendent, urging immediate intervention to address the concerns raised. The Congress party has called for prompt action to ensure the hospital fulfills its obligations to patients and improves service conditions.
