Agartala, 5th June 2025 :   A violent clash over a land dispute erupted in the Notanbazar Ashram Chowmuhani area leaving one person injured and sparking public outrage over police inaction.

According to eyewitnesses, as tensions escalated between two rival groups, the police constable on duty identified as Nantu Das from the Natunbazar police station failed to intervene. Despite being urged by local traders and market-goers to control the situation, Constable Das reportedly stated that he could not take action when private disputes spilled into the marketplace. He further suggested that it was up to the people to defuse the altercation themselves.

This passive response angered residents and shopkeepers, who expected police personnel to maintain order. Meanwhile, the violent confrontation resulted in injuries, raising concerns over security in the bustling market area.

Now, all eyes are on the Officer-in-Charge of Natunbazar Police Station with the local people awaiting decisive action against the constable for his alleged negligence.
