Green Shadow Foundation and Udaipur Municipal Council Mark World Environment Day with Awareness Drive and Tree Plantation

Agartala, 5^th June 2025 :   In observance of World Environment Day, the Green Shadow Foundation launched an awareness campaign urging citizens to refrain from disposing of plastic bags and bottles in drains and water bodies. The initiative took place along the banks of Udaipur Mahadev Dighi and its adjoining areas.

Ward No. 9 Councilor Chameli Das, Development Committee Member Rupa Das Sarkar and Ward No. 7 Councilor Subir Das participated in the event alongside members of the foundation’s executive committee including Somen Sen and Surajit Dhar. Employees of the organization were also present. The campaign was financially supported by the Tripura Pollution Control Board.

Meanwhile, the Udaipur Municipal Council organized a tree plantation drive to further promote environmental conservation. Udaipur Municipal Council Chairman Shital Chandra Majumdar, Udaipur SDM Tridip Sarkar and other councilors took part in the initiative, reinforcing the city’s commitment to sustainable practices.
