Agartala, November 10:  The Congress party has announced a Booth Chalo program in Sonamura district from November 19, with the aim of strengthening the party organization and reaching out to the people. The program will involve the reorganization of the four blocks and about 218 booths of the district, as well as the formation of a strong opposition party in the tribal areas.

The details of the program were revealed by the District Congress President Dipak Chakraborty in a press conference at Sonamura District Congress Building on Friday. He said that the program will focus on the issues and problems of the people and the party workers, and will try to revive the party’s base and popularity in the district.

He also said that the program will be led by the senior and experienced leaders of the party, such as Rabin Deb, who is the former leader of the opposition in the state assembly. He said that the party will also try to bring back those who have left the party for various reasons and will welcome new members who are willing to join the Congress.

He said that the Booth Chalo program is part of the party’s strategy to prepare for the upcoming elections and to challenge the ruling BJP and its allies. He said that the Congress is the only party that can provide a secular and democratic alternative to the people of the state.
