Agartala Aug 08: Protesting against the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, Bordowali Block Youth Congress burnt motorbike in front of Congress Bhavan Agartala on Monday.

In a unique way of staging demonstration, the agitators led by Pradesh Youth Congress president Rakhu Das carried LPG gas cylinder models, an old motorbike and then put the motorcycle on fire.

Pradesh Congress in-charge Szarita Latphlang told the media that under the Modi government it’s all about “Hum do, humare do”, and nobody listens to the common people.

“Petrol has crossed Rs 100 long back; value of Indian currency is record breaking low. Common people are unable to purchase gas cylinders. In this situation, Congress has continued its protest and will continue to fight till the Modi Govt is ousted from power”, said Szarita Laitphlang.

State Youth Congress president Rakhu Das said, “BJP played game with the common people for the sake of vote bank and now when they are in power, people are burdened with crisis in the name of GST and many more. Hiked prices of essential commodities like cooking gas have made holes in the pocket of common men”.
