Khowai DM chairs all-party meet on ECI directive to link voter ID with Aadhar number

Agartala, August 08, 2022: An all-party meeting was held on Monday at the conference hall of the district magistrate (DM) of Khowai district to implement the Election Commission’s directive to link Aadhaar number with voter ID.

In addition to representatives of political parties, journalists are also invited to this all-party meeting. This is the first official invitation of journalists to the all-party meeting.

Explaining in this regard, District Magistrate LT Darlong said that as the Election Commission’s directives require everyone’s help and cooperation, the process of linking Aadhaar with the voter list also requires the help and cooperation of political parties and journalists.

As the Aadhaar Link process has started, today’s meeting brings everyone together to save time. Today’s all-party meeting was attended by representatives of ruling BJP, Congress, CPIM, IPFT, and TIPRA Motha.

The only representatives of the Amra Bangali party were not present. The Booth Level Officers of each Assembly Constituency will visit each voter’s house and request the voter to fill form number 06. Every voter should come forward to help BLO with photo copy of Aadhaar card.

The District Magistrate himself made an application in today’s joint meeting to make the public aware as well as give advice.
