Agartala, September 16, 2023: The Pradesh Congress party has accused the BJP-led government of being involved in various corruption scandals in the last nine years.
In a press conference held at the Congress Bhawan at Post Office Chaumuhani on Saturday, Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty said that the Narendra Modi government had failed to deliver on its promise of a corruption-free country. He said that the people should protest against the rampant corruption in the state and central governments.
Congress leader Shantiranjan Debnath also joined the attack on the BJP, saying that corruption had become institutionalized in all the states where there was a double engine government, meaning both the state and the central governments were ruled by the BJP.
He alleged that this was done with the covert support of the Modi government. The Congress leaders demanded a special audit in all state departments to expose the corruption. They said that the Congress party would fight for the rights and interests of the people.
