Agartala Sept 01: Thursday, 455 voters from 188 families left different political parties and joined the Congress amid a meeting in Kumarghat.Handing over the party flag to the new joiners, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman called upon the Congress activists and supporters to come forward and unite in struggle against the BJP.
TPCC president Brijit Sinha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA Asish Kumar Saha along with other Congress leaders and supporters held a meeting at Kumarghat Cooperative Society Hall on Thursday.Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Kumar Saha have been travelling various parts of North Tripura district since past two days as a part of organizational activities in view of the looming much important 2023 assembly elections in Tripura.
Addressing at the program Sudip Roy Barman said, “You must all start preparing for the 2023 assembly elections from now and visit all the areas in all assembly constituencies and speak to people explaining the critical and crisis-ridden situation in Tripura and the anti-people activities of the BJP government ; this will pave the way for our victory in the upcoming assembly polls”.Lambasting the BJP Sudip said, “BJP only knows muscle power, bike bahini and rigging. And these three things cannot make the party last longer”.Sudip Roy Barman appreciated the life and death struggle launched by Congress workers and supporters across the state and said this organized struggle will lead to restoration of democracy and constitution and success of Congress in the next assembly election.
