Agartala: September 23. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today in his maiden speech at the Tripura Assembly Session said that constructive discussions in this assembly house and mutual courtesy and respect of all the members of the Assembly will make the dignity of the holy assembly shine brighter and in this way, democracy will be stronger.
“The trust and confidence that the people of the state have entrusted to us to represent the people in the holy state assembly, known as the temple of democracy, should be respected. Keeping in mind the trust and confidence of the people, even in the midst of party ideological differences and impositions, we can discuss the issues of public welfare and take the right decision on the basis of consensus”, said CM.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed this hope while addressing the state assembly session today. He said, constructive discussions in this House and mutual courtesy and respect of all the members of the Assembly will make the dignity of the Holy Assembly shine brighter. In this way, democracy will be stronger.
Professor Dr. Saha attended the assembly session for the first time after taking charge as the chief minister of the state. In his speech, the Chief Minister said, “I am very honored to attend the Tripura Legislative Assembly session for the first time with the blessings of the people of the state and taking the oath to fulfill the duties and responsibilities assigned constitutionally. In the Holy Assembly, which is known as the seat of democracy, the members of the Assembly hold constructive discussions on various important issues for the welfare of the people of the state and express their opinions and take important decisions through discussion”.
He said that apart from this, the day-to-day public welfare programs of the session are decided by the decision of the Business Advisory Committee, and constructive discussions will be held on every issue following the rules and regulations of the Assembly.
“Apart from this, opposition members play a very responsible role in discussing other important issues of public interest. All the members of this House will play a commendable role in the future in order to make democracy stronger and more integrated” the CM said.Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha also said that it is expected that there will be a constructive discussion on public interest and people’s problems in the assembly. “If the problem is known, the state government takes positive steps to solve it”, Dr Saha said.
