President Mumu likely to lay foundation stone of digital museum on Oct 14: Pranajit

Agartala: September 23. Tourism Minister Pranajit Sinha Roy today said that President of India Darupaudi Murmu is likely to be present during laying the foundation stone of digital museum on October 14.Addressing a press conference this evening at Swet Mahal, Minister Pranajit Sinha Roy said World Tourism Day-2022 will be celebrated in a new way in the state on September 27.

“The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day is “Re-Thinking Tourism”. With this in mind, various initiatives have been taken to develop the tourism industry in the state”, he said.He further said that a digital museum will be built in Agartala’s Pushpabant Palace and for this Rs 40 crore have been received from the Government of India.

“During laying foundation stone of the Digital Museum at Pushpavant Palace on October 14 President of India Draupadi Murmu would be presented”, he said.The tourism minister said that although Tripura is a small state, there is a huge potential for the development of the tourism industry. “Tripura is a wonderful confluence of natural beauty, archaeological monuments and hills. Houseboat will be launched soon in Dumboor. Loghaat is being launched for night out of tourists to the attractive tourist centers of the state. There are 16 log huts and construction of 15 more log huts has been completed”, he said.

The minister further said that the light and sound system will be launched in Ujjayanta Palace very soon. He said that since 2018, the number of tourists in the state has also been increasing. “The number of domestic and foreign tourist trips to the state has increased by nearly 50 percent. Apart from this, 200 crore rupees have been received from the Asian Development Bank. He said, if the weather is suitable, the Chief Minister will launch para-gliding as part of adventure tourism in Jampui on September 29”, he added.
