Agartala, August 11, 2023: Tensions have escalated among hopeful job applicants as allegations of corruption cast a shadow over the Anganwadi Kendra recruitment process in Dhalai district. The office of the Intensive Child Development Officer (CDPO) remained shuttered on Friday, underscoring the intensifying turmoil.

Reports indicate that the Gandacherra CDPO has been grappling with the task of appointing 64 Anganwadi workers and assistants across the 64 Anganwadi Kendras within the Gandacherra subdivision.

Amidst the controversy, individuals who had served diligently within various Anganwadi Kendras for several years found themselves excluded from the interview board’s selections. This decision prompted dismay and protests, with many asserting that their dedicated service had been disregarded.

A subsequent announcement attempted to quell the unrest by confirming the retention of Anganwadi workers with a tenure of five to ten years. This decision gained traction and support, notably championed by Raima Valley’s Tipra Matha party.

However, underlying the commotion are serious allegations of widescale corruption in the recruitment process. Accusations point towards an affiliation between the alleged corruption and the ruling party. As the controversy unfolds, concerns regarding the integrity of the recruitment process and the equitable treatment of experienced Anganwadi workers continue to be at the forefront of public discourse.
