Agartala, 22nd October 2025:   A cow trapped for six days inside an abandoned septic tank in Teliamura’s Ward number 07 was rescued alive this morning by the local disaster response team. The tank located at the residence of Manik Saha, had gone unnoticed until a search was launched following a missing livestock report.

Narayan Saha, a resident of Netaji Nagar in Ward number 09, informed Teliamura Municipal Council Chairman Rupak Sarkar yesterday that his cow had been missing for nearly five days. Acting swiftly, Sarkar instructed ward councillors to investigate and report any unusual findings.

The cow was eventually located in the disused tank at Sarkar’s own ward. The SDM’s disaster team responded promptly and successfully carried out the rescue. Although the Fire department was alerted, they reportedly failed to arrive on time.

The incident has been hailed locally as a remarkable example of coordinated civic response and animal rescue.
