Agartala, 13th July 2025:   The Communist Party of India (CPI) today launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government during the inauguration of its 23rd Tripura State Conference, accusing it of running the country under an “undeclared emergency.”

Addressing the gathering at the CPI State Office, Junu Das Bhavan in Krishnanagar here, CPI National Secretariat member K. Narayana said, “During the BJP’s rule, an undeclared emergency is going on across the country. Democracy is being taken away from the common man.”

The three-day CPI State Conference began with the ceremonial hoisting of the party flag and garlanding of the Shaheed Altar. The event is being attended by key CPI leaders, including K. Narayana and veteran leader Pallab Sengupta. The conference will continue till July 14.

In his speech, Narayana condemned the central leadership of the BJP, alleging authoritarian governance. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are continuing their fascist rule across the country. They are running various departments according to their own wishes, and as a result, nothing is happening in the interest of the common people,” he said.

He also outlined the party’s roadmap, noting that state conferences are being concluded ahead of the CPI’s All India Conference scheduled to be held in Chandigarh from September 21 to 25.

Calling for a united opposition, Narayana urged citizens and political forces to raise their voices against what he termed the BJP’s anti-democratic regime. “We must come together to get rid of this government and protect the country’s democratic fabric,” he asserted.
