Agartala: June 09. The CPIM in the state have alleged that the people living in far flung rural area in the state are facing severe crisis of food, work and money.
Addressing a press conference Former Chief Executive Member of TTAADC, Radhacharan Debbarma said that a delegation of CPIM led by former chief minister Manik Sarkar, Ratan Bhowmik, Sudhan Das, Lalit Tripura, Dhananjay Tripura and Radhacharan himself on June 7 and 8th have visited different areas of Dhalai district to inspect how people in the rural areas are living their life.
“On 7th we have visited Thalcherra area we spoke with some people and get to know that the road condition is very pathetic. The people in the area are facing very difficulties in living their life. No MNREGA works has been done even no such works of other departments are also taking place. The people are also not getting their wages. They have no way of earning money but collecting ‘Gandhaki’ from Bangladesh illegally to earn some money. Another source of income was selling broom stick but now due to BJP and TIPRA Motha workers the local people are facing difficulties of selling their products to people of Assam and other neighboring states. They are facing a severe financial crisis along with acute food crisis”, alleged the CPIM leaders.
He further claimed that the people have no other alternative ways of earning money and are spending their life amidst uncertainty.
“We have also visited Rajdhar, Malidhar, Manikpur village council and spoke with the people. The people of the condition are pathetic. After 2018, in Gobindabari, Nainmoro area they have no power and had to buy kerosene from open market spending Rs 130 litter as in ration shop people are getting only one litter. On 8th we have visited Maldapara of Ganganagar near Bangladesh border. They have also no road to communicate”, he told reporters.
