Agartala: February 27. The Opposition CPIM and Congress on Monday met the Tripura Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kiran Gitte and filed a complaint against the MBB University for publishing exit polls in advance.

“BJP out of fear of defeat from the beginning of the election and even after the conclusion of the poll, they have started hatching a conspiracy. The chair of the Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Bir Bikram University is being occupied by an RSS person and the Director of ICA Ratan Biswas was ordered to publish an opinion poll by spending money of University which is the money of the people. However, that time we wrote a letter to the CEO later they stopped it. But today afternoon in Social Media a report of Praccis and MBB University has circulated on exit poll”, said Jitendra Chaudhury, CPIM state committee secretary.

The CPIM leader said that the exit poll was supposed to publish after 7 PM but it was published by 12 PM claiming that BJP is wining 49 seats.

“No one would believe it as people have cast their vote till 11 PM and the participation of people also proved that it goes against which party. We have said so many things and the CEO has assured us that will be issued show cause to MBB university on the matter”, the CPIM leader said.

Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman who was also present said this time democracy will win.
