Agartala: August 24. Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha of Agartala predicted the fading of opposition parties CPIM and Congress, stating they would become virtually invisible. Speaking at an event in the poll-bound Boxanagar Assembly Constituency, he highlighted that Congress was losing its influence nationally as well. Former Congress leader Billal Miah and 8000 voters joined BJP during the event.
Dr. Saha mentioned that the Congress party’s decline was evident, with more defections expected. He emphasized improved law and order, equality among religions, and development under BJP’s governance. He recounted the neglect the Boxanagar Assembly Constituency faced in the past and praised government initiatives like PM Awas Yojana-Gramin and Jal Jeevan Mission.
Regarding elections, he noted that CPIM’s seat count had been diminishing and expressed confidence in Tafajjal Hossain’s victory. Dr. Saha believed CPIM and Congress would become nearly undetectable due to their self-centered nature, while BJP aimed for unity under leaders like PM Modi, Amit Shah, and JP Nadda.
Dr. Saha concluded by assuring victory and calling for faith from the public. He was joined by BJP state leaders and ministers during the event. The elections were eagerly awaited on September 8 for what he believed would be a celebratory return.
