Agartala: Aug 24. A four member delegation of CPIM today met the DGP Amitabh Ranjan to apprise him about the ‘reign of terror’ that has been prevailing across the state soon after BJP formed government in 2018.The four member delegation comprised by CPIM west district committee secretary Ratan Das, former minister and CITU president Manik Dey, AIKS state secretary Pabitra Kar, and former CEM of TTAADC Radha Charan Debbarma.
After coming out from the police headquarters, Manik Dey told reporters that the CPIM leaders met the DGP and informed him about the present situation of the state.
“We met the DGP and apprised him about the pathetic condition of the state. The law and order has completely deteriorated. People are not allowed to cast votes, there is no democratic right, houses are being looted, role of police are silent spectators. Such situation arises after BJP government formed in the state in 2018. We have discussed all these matter broadly”, he said.
He further said that the CPIM leaders have told the DGP that the situation which prevailing in the state is not a normal situation but an atmosphere of fear psychosis is prevailing. “People have lost all democratic right. We have also flagged the situation of Jirania Sub-division. The DGP has listened to us and said he took some information and said as he came after a long time he will take all the information and will take step to bring the situation under control. He committed us that he will try to keep the people’s faith over police”, Dey said
