MoS Pratima interacts with self-help groups’ members at Kailasahar

Agartala, August 24, 2022: Union minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik on Wednesday said that there is no substitute for blood donation, donating blood is a great gift and various clubs and voluntary organizations in the state organize blood donation camps at different times of the year.

While inaugurating a blood donation camp organized by Lions Club and Leo Club at Unakoti district Hospital in Kailashahar on Wednesday, Bhoumik thanked the club authorities for organizing the blood donation camp.

The blood donation camp was attended by Chairperson of Kailashapur Municipal Council Chapla Debroy, Vice-Chairperson Nitish Dey, District Magistrate Uttam Kumar Chakma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pradip Sarkar, Lions Club President Palash Dey and others. 41 people donated blood in blood donation camp. In the event, 6 people were felicitated for their significant achievements in service work.

After inaugurating the blood donation camp, union minister of state visited AYUSH Hospital in Kailashahar and interacted with the patients of the hospital.

After that, she met with the members of various self-help groups of Kailasahar MC area in an interaction meeting at Nazrul Kalakshetra in Kailashahar. In the exchange meeting, the MoS Bhoumij said that self-help groups should be included in various economic processes. As self-help groups become self-reliant, group members will also become self-reliant. The state government has provided loans on easy terms to make self-help groups self-reliant.
