Agartala, 28th May 2025: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) convened its 24th Party Congress Reporting Meeting at the New Town Hall in Sonamura today, bringing together key leaders and party workers to discuss the resolutions and future strategies of the organization.
The main report was presented by senior communist leader and former Politburo member Manik Sarkar, who outlined the political direction adopted in the Congress. Emphasizing the importance of collective action, he stated, “In the present country, it is the need of the hour to build constructive resistance and a united movement. In the coming days, the mass movement will have to be intensified on various issues of public life.”
Ratan Saha, member of the State Secretariat and Secretary of the Sepahijala District Committee shared insights into the party’s organizational activities, ongoing membership drives and mass movements.
Addressing local concerns, Shyamal Chakraborty, Secretary of the Sonamura Sub-division Committee and current MLA spoke about the challenges facing the people. He asserted, “A massive movement will be launched under the leadership of the party against unemployment, price hike and lack of democracy.”
The meeting was presided over by Suresh Das, a member of the CPI(M) state committee, who led discussions and affirmed full support for the resolutions passed in the party congress.
Over a hundred party workers and members from various branches and area committees participated, pledging to uphold and implement the decisions made during the Congress. The gathering reinforced the party’s commitment to strengthening its organizational structure and mobilizing public movements in the days ahead.
