CPIM lashes BJP for not working for people, claims govt capsized in corruption

Agartala: August 18. The opposition CPIM today alleged that the government has miserably failed to carry our developmental works as it has capsized in corruption and reeling under severe financial crunch.Addressing a press conference this afternoon at CPIM state party headquarters in Agartala, CPIM MLA Ratan Bhowmik claimed that the state is reeling under a financial crisis and the government has already capsized in corruption.

“If they had funds, they could have provided the social pensions to the old women. But not a single person is receiving a social pension. They have announced 5% DA for government employees but no one has received. More than 50% of people didn’t avail the benefits of the schemes introduced by the state government. But they had spent more than 50 lakh on a campaign. They have money for advertising but not for developmental works”, said Bhowmik.

He further said that today a four delegation member of CPIM including Bhowmik, Bhanulal Saha, Saheed Chowdhury and Narayan Chowdhury met West District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan to apprise him of the problems like drinking water, road connectivity, and agriculture which are facing by the people.

He said that they have informed the DM about the MNREGA workers that they have are not receiving wages, the DM in response said that he will direct the Block Development Officer and Sub-divisional Magistrate about the problem.Bhowmik also claimed that the situation of villages is not good as they are facing severe drinking water connection, road connectivity is very poor. “We have also said the DM to make available medicine, doctors and nurses in all Primary Health Care and Community Health Care in villages so that they don’t need to come here in Agartala”, the CPIM leader said.He said that after informing the DM about all the critical problems which people are facing, the response of the DM was positive.
