Agartala, 28th January 2025: Opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury alleged that CPI(M) propaganda equipment is being destroyed across the city. Chaudhury expressed his anger, questioning, “Despite the BJP government being in power, why are they so afraid? Because of this, they are obstructing CPI(M) public meetings.”
State politics is extremely heated around the upcoming state conference of the CPI(M) party on January 29. After much speculation, the state conference is set to be held in front of Rabindra Bhavan. Chaudhury confirmed this while speaking to journalists today.
Chaudhury stated that an application was made to the government to organize the 24th state conference of the CPI(M) at the Umakanta Academy ground. However, the government informed them that public meetings cannot be held if they disrupt students’ studies. Chaudhury pointed out the irony, saying, “There are several examples of programs, including the Home Minister’s public meeting at the Umakanta Academy school, disrupting the studies of students.” He claimed that the BJP is afraid, but it is not possible to keep the people locked up. A public meeting is scheduled to be held tomorrow in front of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan. Chaudhury also appealed to the police to work impartially without smearing the BJP’s colors.
Additionally, Chaudhury complained that CPI(M) campaign equipment is being destroyed in several places in the city, including in front of his own house. He questioned, “What is the BJP so afraid of? Despite being in power, why are they so afraid?”
