Agartala, 30th March 2026: Chief Secretary Jitender Kumar Sinha today assured that there is no shortage of essential commodities in the state, particularly petroleum products. He also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to spread misinformation or engage in black marketing.
The statement came after an inter-state review meeting held at the Secretariat, chaired by the Chief Secretary, to assess the availability and distribution of essential goods and fuel across Tripura.
During the meeting, senior officials—including Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and department representatives—provided a detailed briefing on the current situation. After reviewing the reports, Sinha emphasized that the supply of essential commodities remains stable and fully under control.
“While certain parts of the country have reported issues, the situation in Tripura is completely normal,” he said.
He highlighted the importance of preparedness, instructing all departments to stay vigilant and be ready to respond to any unforeseen circumstances. Sinha also stressed the need to curb the spread of false or misleading information on social media and to ensure that accurate updates reach the public.
Urging citizens not to panic, he said that unnecessary fear must be avoided at all costs.
The Chief Secretary further directed officials to closely monitor the situation across the state and take immediate action if any disruption occurs. He also called for enhanced surveillance to prevent black marketing and ensure that the public continues to receive essential goods without difficulty.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Anurag, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, and other senior officials from various departments.
