Daring theft at Palatana Primary school, police begins investigation

Agartala, 10th March 2025 :   A daring robbery took place at Udaipur’s Palatana Primary School and left the local residents near the school in shock. As usual, teachers locked the premises and went home after school hours. However, today when classes resumed students raised an alarm upon found several cupboards, drawers and locks broken.

The matter was promptly reported to Debal Debroy, the Sabhadipati of Gomati Zilla Parishad, who was consulted regarding the incident. Following this, the police were informed and launched an investigation.

Preliminary suspicions suggest an incident took place yesterday, where a group of youngsters gathered near the school to set up a large screen for watching the ICC Champions Trophy match and enjoyed festivities late into the night. The police suspect these individuals may be linked to the burglary. They have also not ruled out the involvement of local drug users and peddlers.

School authorities reported Rs 55,000 in cash was stolen from a broken drawer. The incident has sparked serious concern among locals and school staff as such crimes are uncommon in the area. Police are conducting an active investigation and are determined to arrest the culprits.
