Deadbody of missing 9-year-old found in rubber plantation; Family alleges murder

Agartala, 21st May 2025:    The body of nine-year-old Ujjashikha Tripura, who had been missing since yesterday afternoon, was recovered this morning from a rubber plantation near her home in Nalsing Sardar Para, Manubazar Kaladepa. The incident has sparked outrage and grief among local residents.

Sources informed, Ujjashikha, daughter of Rahim Tripura had disappeared around 4 pm yesterday. Despite extensive searches by her family and neighbors, no trace of her was found until the tragic finding this morning.

Her distraught parents have alleged foul play in the child’s death. “My daughter has been murdered. We need justice,” said her father, Rahim Tripura, demanding a thorough investigation.

Upon receiving information, police officials rushed to the scene and recovered the body, sending it for autopsy. Authorities have assured that an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of death.

“The case is being treated with utmost seriousness, and we will leave no stone unturned in uncovering the truth,” stated a police official.

As the locality reels from the shock, concerns over safety and justice remain at the forefront. Local leaders have urged authorities to conduct a swift and transparent investigation.
