Decisions for youths, farmers, employees & students approved: Sushanta

Agartala, December 02, 2022: The council of ministers on Thursday evening in a meeting initiated several decisions for the employment of youths, beneficial for farmers, government employees and students.

Speaking to media personnel at Civil Secretariat here on Friday afternoon, Cabinet spokesperson and ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the government will be filling up 200 junior engineers under PWD department comprising of 100 each in TES (Tripura Engineer Service) Group V and B from civil, mechanical and electrical departments.

Few days back, decision was also taken for recruitment of 100 each in Group A degree and Group B diploma aspirants through notification 16/2022 issued TPSC, he added.

In the cabinet, it has also been decided to procure 35,000 metric tonnes of paddy from the farmers through FCI at a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 20.40 per kilogram and it will start from this month onwards. Since 2018-19 financial year, government purchased 1.31 lakh MTs of paddy from farmers spending Rs 243.99 crore till 2021-22 fiscal year, he added.

Chowdhury thanked former and incumbent Chief Ministers, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare minister and Food and Civil Supplies minister for this initiative of procuring paddy from the farmers.

The council of ministers also decided that the family members of Group A and B government employees can directly avail treatment facilities without referring certificate in government enlisted hospitals outside the state. The expenses will be reimbursed after showing of bills. Employees taking station leave for government service can also enjoy this benefit by taking treatment facilities in those enlisted hospitals outside the state. Moreover, employees under Group C and D categories can get reimbursement if they avail treatment in the enlisted hospitals for cancer and cardio-related diseases, ICA minister told reporters.

He also said that the retired pensioners and spouse referred by standing medical board will get Rs 50,000 which was only Rs 15,000 earlier and the frame is for 5 years. Not only this, Group A and B employees posted in Tripura Bhavans’ at Guwahati, Kolkata and Delhi will also get this facilities while medical allowances will be given to Group C and D categories.

Last but not the least, Cabinet spokesperson also said that the Techno India University is going to set up in Tripura with numerous courses.
