Agartala, 3rd April 2024:   A decomposed body of a woman has been recovered from a residence in Panchmukh area, adjacent to the capital city. The incident has sparked widespread concern and speculation in the locality.

Upon receiving the information, both forensic experts and the drug squad swiftly mobilized to the scene. Initial suspicions from neighbors suggest a potential case of murder following sexual assault, given that the woman’s body was found partially unclothed.

According to statements from SI Hirendra Debvarma of Amtali Police Station, authorities were alerted around 9:30 this morning after concerns were raised about the absence of activity at the residence of Mira Deb (53), who resided alone in the area. Upon arrival, police found the house locked from the outside. Upon entering, they recovered Mira Deb’s dead body on the floor.

Authorities promptly retrieved the body and transported it to the hospital for post-mortem examination. However, the exact cause of death remains undetermined pending autopsy results.

Local residents are gripped with fear and suspicion, speculating that Meera Dev may have been the victim of a heinous crime. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death are ongoing.
