Agartala Sept 23: All India Democratic Womens’ Association besieged West Agartala Womens’ Police Station demanding the arrest of attackers on women leader Piyali Chowdhury.
The women activists of the Left women wing staged protest demonstration in front the Womens’ police station raising slogans against the atrocities on women and attacks on opposition political party activists.
Allegedly, women leader Piyali Choudhury was attacked by the miscreants backed by the ruling party at CPI-M s mmeting in Hapania on Thursday. Talking to the reporters, former Rajya Sabha MP Jharna Das Baidya alleged, woman leader Piyali Chowdhury was beaten up by miscreants on her way home after the meeting and was seriously injured. She is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
She alleged, Police have not yet arrested anyone in connection with the incident.Friday, the All India Democratic Women’s Association laid siege at West Agartala Women’s Police Station protesting against the incident and demanding the arrest of the culprits.Later, a delegation placed deputation to the Sub Divisional Police Officer, Swasthi Das.
