Deputy CM flagged off 5-day programs of MBB College’s 75th year celebration

Agartala, September 5, 2022: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Monday flagged off a colourful procession to mark the 5-day long 75th year of MBB College celebration events at its premises here in presence of Education minister Ratan Lal Nath, TTDC chairman Santosh Saha, Higher Education Director NC Sharma, VC of MBB University Dr Satyadeo Poddar and many others.

Addressing the flagging off ceremony, Dev Varma said “The five-day long celebration programme of the diamond jubilee of MBB College begins today. Many of us present here were students of this college. We have many treasurable moments to cherish. This historical college had earned a good reputation across the country.”

Speaking at the event, Nath said that the MBB College was set up on September 09, 1947. To make this 75th year of celebration of this college, several committees led by a core committee was formed. The committees have decided to begin this celebration event from September 05. Accordingly, we started the celebration with the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma today. The main programme will be held on September 09 i.e. the concluding ceremony which will be attended by the Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha. In these five days of celebration, many dignitaries including ministers and ex-CM Biplab Kumar Deb will remain present.

“Today is teachers’ day. Every time we celebrate this auspicious day at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here. This year, we have brought this celebration programme at the campus of MBB College. Large number of meritorious students passed out from this college are now spread across the world in different professions. Students started studying during its inception in 1947 is still alive. At present, RN Chakraborty who was a student of this college in 1950 is present amongst us”, he added.
