One held while stealing Govt documents ‘dumped’ in garbage

Agartala: September 05. Police in Udaipur today caught red handed a person while stealing documents and other important files of government offices when he was trying to steal it for the purpose of selling it.

It is known that for the past few days, the news of stealing of several important documents from the Udaipur Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office has spread.

Today at seven in the morning, some people were arrested by the local people while collecting important documents and various files of the Election Commissioner from the forest behind the SDM’s office. The police of Radhakishorpur police station were informed. The police were able to recover important documents, files, voter ID cards and other documents from the possession of arrested persons

The arrested person said that they were taking the paper to sell. But they said that they do not know who left the files on the side of the road. Several important documents signed by the former SDM were found in the garbage heap today. Locals demanded proper investigation of the incident.
