Agartala, October 28, 2022: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Friday chaired a review meeting on the progress of various developmental works implemented in North Tripura district. The meet was held at the conference hall of North Tripura district’s DM office. In the meeting, he emphasized on accelerating the pace of development work.
In the review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Dev Varma said that priority should be given to health, education, drinking water, road communication, electricity, agriculture and agriculture related sectors for public welfare. Projects in all these areas should be implemented properly so that a large number of people can benefit.
In the meeting, DM Nagesh Kumar B presented the progress of various developmental works of the district. The District Magistrate said that MGNREGA is 62 lakh 69 thousand 988 mandays created in the district till October 27 of the current financial year. Also construction of 110 paver rock roads has been completed in the district so far. The District Magistrate also said that in the current fiscal year, afforestation has been done in 8 blocks of the district in an area of 639 hectares. This afforestation is done in agar, rubber and agroforestry. In the meeting, the District Magistrate also said that 13 thousand 249 ‘Pucca’ houses have been constructed in the district for the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin project. Newly approved for construction of 3 thousand 363 ‘Pucca’ houses in PMAY (Rural) in the district. In this meeting, the progress of development work of various departments like Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission, Road Communication, Agriculture etc. was reviewed.
Uttar Tripura Zilla Parishad Chairman Bhabatosh Das, MLA Binoy Bhushan Das, MLA Malina Debnath, MDC Shailendra Nath, Chairman of various Panchayat Samiti of the district, Chairman of BAC, Chairman of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Pradyut De Sarkar, Chairman of TIDC Tinku Roy, Rural Development department Special Secretary Dr Sandeep R Rathore, Secretary of other departments, ADM Jayanta Dey, Dharmanagar SDM L Darlong, BDOs of eight blocks in the district, officials of various departments were present.
