Agartala, November 03: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday said that the government has given priority to the development of far-flung areas in the state and spriority is being given to Dumburnagar RD block as an aspirational block. Moreover, the government has taken a multifaceted program for the development of the infrastructure of the tribal areas and the development of the tribal communities, he added.
While inaugurating the newly constructed building of Dumburnagar RD Block on Thursday, Dev Varma said that Dhalai district is an aspirational district among the 8 districts of the state and therefore, the development of this district is the priority area of the government. All of the 4 aspirational blocks are Chawmanu, Ganganagar, Dumboornagar and Raishyabari blocks. The government is working on a multi-pronged plan to develop these block.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently mentioned the Bio-village Sambajoy Para in aspirational district Dhalai in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme. The development of this region has reached the entire country today. He said that Dumburnagar block is also an attractive place in terms of tourism. Dumboor lake and Narikel Kunja are going to play an important role in the development of the tourism industry of the state in the future. It will also create income opportunities for this region. The Gondatuisa (earlier Gandacherra) subdivision will become a modern subdivision in the future, he added.
On the occasion, MP Rebati Tripura said that the work on Gandatuisa-Raisyabari road will be completed in the next few days. A town hall and sub-divisional hospital are being constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore in Gandatuisa sub-division. The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission office building has also already been constructed.
It is worthy to mention here that Rs 1 crore 67 lakh 21 thousand 547 has been spent on the construction of the newly constructed building of Dumburnagar RD Block.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MDC Bhumikananda Reang, DM of Dhalai district Dr Siddharth Shib Jaiswal, OTPC Managing Director Sunil Chandra Namudripad and others.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma also launched the Ambulance Service of OTPC’s Tripura Project on the occasion. Moreover, at the event, cheques were given to Credit Link to 3 self-help groups under ‘Prati Ghore Sushasan’ campaign.
