Agartala: Nov 03. Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman today hinted at forming a grand alliance to defeat BJP in the upcoming assembly poll. The statement of the Congress leaders came during a joining program held in Dharmanagar.More than 500 voters today joined Pradesh Congress leaving CPIM and BJP at Dharmanagar in presence of Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman and senior Congress leader Ashish Saha.

They first participated in two joint meetings of Khadimpara and Rajnagar Gram Panchayats in Kadamatla. From there in the evening Barman addressed the people in a rally and general meeting in the premises of the Dharmanagar District Congress Building. 570 voters from 168 families attended the rally, including 195 from the Left Front and 375 from the BJP under the umbrella of the Indian National Congress. Sudip Roy Barman handed over the Congress flag to them.

Among those who joined, one-time BJP youth leader Sourab Goswami joined Congress. While speaking, Roy Barman strongly criticized the good governance scheme of the state government. He said there is no rule of law in the state. Those who went to donate blood at DYFI’s blood donation camp in Belonia were attacked by BJP miscreants. Currently, no work is done without giving bribe in the state.

“Every house given to the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has to pay bribe to build the house. Every day children from minors to old women are being raped or gang-raped in the state. The minister’s son is also involved in the gang rape incident. However, when the opposition party joined in movement, the police were forced to cover up the incident. Despite repeated requests, the police are not revealing the location of the minister’s son’s mobile phone”, Barman said.

He claimed in the past 25 years many rapes and gang rapes have taken place in the state. As a result, a new government was formed in 2018. “But the situation is worse than the previous government. This is how the process of Har Ghar good governance is going on in the state”, he said.He hinted to defeat the ruling party BJP by forming a grand alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.
