Deputy CM inaugurates Tripura Gramin Bank’s 47th F’Day & Mega Credit Delivery Camp

Agartala, December 28, 2022: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the Tripura Gramin Bank’s 47th Foundation Day in the premises of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here on Wednesday noon.

The bank authority has also organized a “Mega Credit Delivery Camp” and the Deputy CM has handed over cheque of loan, sanctioning letter and certificates among three beneficiaries under different schemes and yojanas of the central government in presence of TGB’s chairman Satyendra Singh, CEO of TRLM V Prasad Rao, NABARD’s DCM Anil Purohit and RBI AGM Sandipan Chatterjee.

Speaking on the inaugural ceremony, Dev Varma said that the bank authority is having a good relation with the people of this state. He lauded the significant role of TGB for having 148 branches across the state and holds top position in disbursing pensions to the people.

Citing a comparison, he slammed the previous government for using people to work for their political interest by forcing them to walk miles with party flags and festoons, and in return, people were deprived and left as poor. Whereas, the present BJP-led government is opening doors of becoming self-reliant through various schemes and yojanas of the central government.

“During the present government’s regime, the women and sisters in the self-help groups across the state are flourishing rapidly by borrowing loans from the bank or through TRLM”, said Dev Varma. He also urged the CEO of TRLM in arranging platforms for the the SHGs to sell their products throughout the country and this will boost the rural economy of the state.

He also mentioned about of a book named ‘Lakh Pati Didis’ released by the Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha in a recently held Saras Mela at Hapania. This book is being sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who showed keen interest to read it, union Home minister Amit Shah and union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Deputy CM asked the Bank’s chairman Singh to open more branches and the government is with the bank authority.

At last, Dev Varma handed over cheque of late A Khatun to his nominee son Hossain Miah who is a customer of TGB’s Champaknagar branch, sanction letter of loan of Rs 2.30 crore to Happy Debnath under Stand-Up India scheme and the Bank’s Bankuar Branch manager awarded under for best enrollment in PFRDA-ABY throughout the country.
