Deputy CM meets bereaved families at Charilam

Agartala, October 22, 2022: Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Saturday visited the houses of two victims who died in road mishap at Charilam area. Dev Varma was accompanied by the BJP Sepahijala (North) district President Gouranga Bhowmik, Charilam BJP Mandal President Rajkumar Debnath, Yuva Morcha Mandal President Gopal Sharma.

The office bearers and Deputy Chief Minister first went to the house of Shanti Debnath who died in a bike accident at North Charilam Madhyapara area. Dev Varma expressed his condolences to the family while talking with Shanti’s son Manik. The Deputy Chief Minister of the state also spoke to the people of the area about how steps can be taken to prevent road accidents.

Thereafter, Deputy Chief Minister along with others went to the house of Rupa Debnath’s house. Rupa is a Class VI student studying in Charilam Class XII school. The representatives spoke to Rupa Debnath’s grandfather Bhajan Debnath in Gautam Colony area of North Charilam Gram Panchayat. The two families burst into tears and Bhajan Debnath is assured that the government is on the side of the family. Charilam Mandal SC Morcha president Rajesh Das was also present.

Moreover, he assured that the people of the area demanded CC cameras. Many people on both sides of the road have encroached on various trees and said that they will talk to the administrator to know how to clear the road and widen the road. He visited the two families and assured them that the government would support them.
